Google, always at the forefront, is preparing to launch a feature in its next series of smartphones Pixel 9: The 'Creative Assistant', a new tool that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to create stickers. The Creative Assistant would be Google's answer to Apple's Genmoji feature, recently introduced for iOS 18.

According to the latest research, the code found in the Android 3 beta 15 suggests the existence of this new app. This app is not yet available for use, but references have been discovered in other Google applications, such as the Markup tool for editing screenshots. These apps indicate that the Creative Assistant will allow users to generate custom stickers and potentially emojis.

The new t functionwould have a "remix" button detected in the code, which apparently will launch an activity from the Creative Assistant that would make it easier not only to create the stickers with AI, but also to integrate them into your images and messages.

Only for Pixels?

Google Pixel phones could have the Creative Assistant function to create stickers.

Integrating generative AI technologies into mobile devices is not new for Google. For years, the company has offered sticker customization options through your app Gboard keyboard. But, the Creative Assistant will be used to create in a more advanced way.

The question that arises is whether the AI sticker generation will be done directly on the device or will require cloud processing. Rumors about the Tensor G4 chip with an improved Gemini Nano coprocessor for the Pixel 9 suggest that local generation of smaller assets could be possible.

Initially, it is expected that the Creative Assistant is an exclusive feature of the Pixel 9, its presence in the beta version of Android 15 for the Pixel 8 opens the possibility that it will also reach previous Pixel models equipped with Tensor chips.

It is also believed that Google will not limit this function only to its own smartphones. This feature is likely to expand to other Android devices from other manufacturers, such as Samsung.
