First question: Location of the seller
As far as payments via Wallapop are concerned, the first thing to consider is who is and where is the seller of the product we want to buy.
The answer to "who" will be found in your user profile, which includes the rating of other users who have interacted with it before, which is a good way to avoid scams and tricks. On the other hand, the question of "where" is also specified in the profile. And here we have two possibilities:
- If the seller is in our same city or somewhere nearby, the most common is to make the sale face to face, at an agreed meeting point (a cafeteria, for example) and pay in cash at that time. The advantages of this is that you can check the status of the product and that you do not have to wait days for it to arrive by mail.
- On the other hand, if the seller lives far from our home, the shipment of the product must be done by mail, preferably through Wallapop Shipping. In this case we will have to enter our credit card data in the application, as well as verify our identity by adding two photographs of our ID (on both sides).

Leaving aside the cash payments on hand deliveries that we have referred to before, Wallapop currently offers buyers three different payment methods: wallet, bank card and PayPal. Each with its own peculiarities and advantages:
This option is only available yes, in addition to buyers, we are also sellers. In this way, the amount collected for a sale can be accumulated in the Wallapop wallet to be used to pay for a future purchase.
When at the time of going to buy something, the amount is greater than the money accumulated in our wallet, the screen will display the option to make a mixed payment: wallet + Paypal or wallet + bank card.
After cash, it is the most used payment method on Wallapop. In order to use it, it is necessary to register our credit or debit card on the platform. It is done with these simple steps:
- First we go to our wallapop user profile.
- Click on the option "Purse".
- Let's go to the section "Bank data".
- We choose credit or debit card.
- After we fill in the form data: name and surname of the holder, number of the card, month and year of expiration and the CVV security code.
- Finally, select "Save".
Many users choose to use PayPal as a payment method because it offers some additional security guarantees. That is why Wallapop decided to incorporate it into its payment methods a few years ago.
To pay for a product on Wallapop through this system, you simply have to choose the PayPal option and click on the “Buy” button. A window will open for us to log in to PayPal and, once the relevant security checks have been made, we will return to a Wallapop screen to confirm the payment.
One last question: Can you pay cash on delivery? At the moment, this option is not contemplated by Wallapop. The argument for this policy is that, using other payment methods, the platform cannot offer guarantees to its users that they will be able to receive their money back in the event that the product does not conform to the description provided by the buyer. .
