MIUI 14 will soon become official as Xiaomi's most advanced customization layer version. With its launch just around the corner, many questions have been raised about everything it will offer and what will be the advantages of using this new interface. More than anything, these doubts have been oriented to which phones will be compatible and will be able to receive the MIUI 14 update, and when, since Xiaomi has not yet spoken about it. MIUI 14, as such, is already official, or almost, since it has not yet been formally presented and launched, so Xiaomi needs to make it known as it should be. Meanwhile, we have the revelation of Jin Fan, one of Xiaomi's highest executives, who unveiled the logo of this interface, so we can already say that it has been announced.
The first thing we will get with MIUI 14 is a more polished, clean and minimalist design, with a more organized and attractive appearance to the eye. Much has been said that it has a huge resemblance to the iOS of the iPhone, mostly because of the control center it has, and it certainly is, but, of course, with the Xiaomi touch included. However, for the rest, it is a layer that has, as we have been saying, a more pleasant design than the one we found in past generations.
For starters, the app icons will look a bit more shaded and have a 3D effect. The status bar section will also have a new appearance, although it will maintain a fairly high resemblance to that of MIUI 13 and 12, so there are not many changes in this section. The same can be said of the control center, although this, as a novelty, has some details that make it similar to that of iOS, as we said above. For the rest, according to what we have been able to find in filtered images of what would be MIUI 14, there will also be a new widgets section, and these can be customized with more freedom, since there will be new configurations and possibilities to add and modify them at will on the main screen.

At the same time, the home screen clock design will have a new look. This can be customized in different ways, as there will be several clock options available to choose from. Added to this, the floating notifications, as well as those displayed in the notification bar section, will also have a new design, but not much is known about this until now.
At the performance level, we can expect great advances. Xiaomi, usually, with each new version of MIUI, promises an increase in performance and fluidity in the system. At the moment, it is difficult to know how much it will be, but it is certain that there will be. In terms of functions, we still do not know many of the ones that MIUI 14 will bring. The app vault will also be a recycled novelty in MIUI 14, and we say "recycled" because it was there in previous MIUI versions, but was later removed. Luckily, it looks like it will be back to stay. In turn, the MIUI 14 photo gallery, in addition to having a new look, will have more options and functions -which are yet to be discovered- and more image editing features for photos and videos. There will also be a new way to reply to messages, and it is through the notification bubbles; It remains to be seen how exactly this feature will work, but basically it will start from a broader interaction with the applications through a new dedicated section that can be easily and quickly accessed at any time.
Regarding notifications, there will also be more options to customize them and choose when we want one or more applications to show them or play sounds and alerts.
Regarding the security section, MIUI 14 will take a step forward to further protect user data and information, mainly from third-party applications that want to access them deliberately. To do this, it will increase the requirements of the permissions and allow them to be modified, adjusted and customized in a deeper way and with greater precision.
