WhatsApp statuses can now last one minute
As you hear, thanks to the latest beta update of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.7.6, available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is implementing a video sharing feature up to 1 minute long through status updates.
As you can see in the image above, from the portal specialized in the wabetainfo app, the state editing and trimming screen remains the same, the only thing that will now allow us double the time for our content. If before we had 30 seconds, now we will have up to 1 minute.
This extension of time responds to two reasons. First of all, respond to the need of users who often upload the content of the clipped states. How many times have you seen the status of one of your contacts whose state line Does it present like 8 cuts? This, although we have become accustomed to it, is a major annoyance every time we are going to upload a state, having to cut it into pieces.
And on the other hand, our motive is to adapt to the trends of social networks. We have seen that social networks like TikTok have increased the length of their videos, so you can record 3-minute videos without cuts. Well now WhatsApp also adapts to this trend of offering more playback time in its status function, reaching a duration similar to what Snapchat has in its videos, 1 minute.

On the other hand, another of the improvements that will soon be coming to the WhatsApp beta is the ability for the user to mention other contacts in their statuses. This is a way to notify users mentioned in the statuses practically instantly.
In this way, we try to encourage the use and views of this functionality which, according to my personal experience, could be losing usability by users. It may be for this reason that they are giving you so much importance to updating and improving the states within the app.
Now, Both this new feature and the 1-minute WhatsApp statuses will still take time to arrive. At the moment they are available for certain WhatsApp Beta users.
