Amazon Luna was presented in the year 2020. However, its start-up was launched two years later. The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany were the first countries to discover this cloud-based video game platform. However, there is no exact release date in other countries. Although the landing of Amazon Luna in Spain seems imminent.
As with other cloud-based gaming platforms, the user will not need powerful equipment -nor video consoles- to access the entire catalog of available games. The only thing that will be needed is a good Internet connection and a controller to play -later we will talk about the equipment compatible with Amazon Luna-.
What is Amazon Moon
It is not the first service of streaming of games. There are other platforms such as NVIDIA GeForce Now, XBOX Pass, among others. Although it is also true that services as popular as Google Stadia closed its doors -gradually- as of last September 2022.
Amazon Luna is not a new service. Its presentation took place in 2020, but it was not until March 2022 when it was launched in the first markets: the United States and Canada, as well as two markets in Europe: Germany and United Kingdom. However, its landing in other European markets seems imminent, according to specialized media. And although there are no exact dates, Spain seems to be one of the chosen countries.
Likewise, Amazon Luna is another video game service in the cloud; that is to say: the user does not need a hardware powerful nor a game console to be able to enjoy the catalog of games offered on the platform. Now, unlike other services, Amazon Luna is divided into three different channels: Luna+, Ubisoft+ and Jackbox games. All of them with a subscription price per month individually. Therefore, if a user wants to have access to the entire catalog, they must pay for the 3 subscriptions per month.
What is needed to be able to play on Amazon Luna
As we have already told you, Amazon Luna in Spain is not yet available. However, if you want to prepare yourself, we can tell you what you will need to be able to play on Amazon's cloud gaming service. To get started, you'll need a Prime account with the company; that is to say: have to pay the annual subscription of 49,99 euros.
Once this is done, neither a powerful computer nor a console will be needed to access the platform, since it is based on web browsers like Chrome, Edge or Safari -in the case of Apple-. Of course, you will need a good Internet connection to avoid suffering the dreaded lags and a compatible controller. Amazon sells its own controller called the Luna Controller, which has a direct connection to the platform and not to our equipment where we will play the games. In this way we will lower the latency.
However, Amazon Luna is also compatible with other controls on the market such as the PlayStation DualShock or Xbox One controller. Although they also refer to keyboards, mice and controls with a Bluetooth connection. On the other hand, the Luna Controller cannot be used with consoles, but it can be used with a Windows computer, either via Bluetooth or via USB-C. And you will need little else to enjoy Amazon Luna at home.
Amazon Luna Compatible Devices
If we search a little on the Amazon Luna page itself, we can check which devices will be compatible with the service. And these are the following:

Therefore, we have a good list of equipment compatible with the Amazon Luna when it arrives in Spain. Likewise, although no reference is made to other Smart TV models such as LG or Sony, it is understood that we will also have the possibility of enjoying this platform. Although if it were not the case, we should simply get a Fire TV Stick.
Amazon Luna channels and their prices
In this case, we must base ourselves on the information that we already have in the German version of Amazon Luna, where they have already enjoyed the service since last March 2022. Prices may vary, but it is expected that these will be the same or similar.
Moon Channel+
The first of the channels that we will have available is called Luna+. Your monthly price is $9,99. This channel includes retro games and family games. Previously, Amazon Luna included 5 channels, among which we found two that at the end of last year 2022 disappeared and their catalogs were included in Amazon Moon+.
