The Meta Group (formerly known as Facebook) has never been characterized for offering a wide variety of methods to be able to interact with all its platforms (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) and for now, it seems that this policy will be maintained in the coming years.
One of the most common demands of the most intensive users of Instagram was to be able to post content on this social network from a computer, without having to create content or copy it to the smartphone in order to publish it, a reality that has only recently been possible.

Unlike other tutorials that you can find on the internet, in this one we do not take advantage of a bug or a trick of this platform. As I have mentioned, since the end of 2021, Instagram finally allows you to post on Instagram from a computer.

How to post on Instagram from a computer
The first thing to do is access the Instagram website and enter the data of our account.
- Then we go to the top of the web and click on the + sign.
- Next, a window will be displayed in which you are invited to select from our team the content we want to publish. To do so, click on Select from computer.
- Once we have selected the image that we want to publish, Instagram allows us to crop the image to take advantage of hateful square format of this platform. Once we have selected the size, click on Next.
- Next, Instagram two options to customize the publication:
- Use one of the 12 available filters, filters that we can modify their intensity by sliding the lower scroll bar.
- In the settings tab, it allows us modify the brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature, fade the image or add a vignette (darken the edges).
- Once we have added the corresponding filter and/or adjusted the image, click on Next.
- Now comes the time write the text with which we want to accompany the image with a maximum limit of 2.200 characters.
- It will also invite us:
- To add the image location (Optional)
- Add alt text for people with vision problems (can be created automatically)
- Disable comments through the Advanced Settings menu.
- Once we have filled in all these fields (I repeat, they are not mandatory), we click on the button Share.
How to delete an Instagram post from a computer
As we have seen in the previous section, making a publication on Instagram is a very fast and simple process. We could say that It is exactly the same process as if we do it from any smartphone.
What happens if I want to delete a publication made from a computer? Deleting an Instagram post from a PC is a very easy process by following the steps below:
- First, we access the Instagram website and click on the image that represents our account.
- In the dropdown that appears, select Profile to access all the publications that we have made in our account.
- Then click on the post that we want to delete.
- Next, click with the mouse on the three points horizontal that are shown in the window that of the image or video that we have published and select Delete.
- Immediately, the web will ask us for confirmation to delete is content. To confirm its deletion, click Delete.
This process is not reversible, that is, you will not be able to recover that publication with all the interactions and views it would have received up to the moment in which we have decided to delete it.
How to delete an Instagram post from a computer with a mobile
When deleting content that we have published on Instagram, regardless of whether we have done it from a computer or from the application for mobile devices, we can get rid of it from any platform.
In case you have doubts, below, we show you the steps to follow to delete an instagram post from mobile, published both from mobile and from a computer.
- The first thing we must do is open the Instagram application from our mobile.
- Next, click on the icon representing a person located in the bottom right corner of the app.
- Then click on the post that we want to delete.
- To delete that publication, click on the 3 points horizontal that are shown in the upper right corner and click, again on the option Delete.
- Application will ask us for confirmation that we want to carry out this process. Click on Delete to permanently delete it.
Just like if we delete the Instagram application from a computer, this process is also not reversible, so you will not be able to recover that publication with all the interactions and views it would have received up to the moment in which we have decided to delete it.
There is no Instagram app for tablets
For now, the Meta group does not intend to release an Instagram app for tablets, so users of this device, the only thing they can do is use the mobile version, even if the interface is not optimized.
Other solution, much more comfortable visually, is to use the browser that we use on our tablet to visit the Instagram website and make the publications from there.
To prevent the web from detecting that we are visiting it from a mobile and redirecting us to the mobile application, we must ask the browser to open the web as if it were a computer.
To access that option, we must access the Instagram page. Once it has been loaded, we access the browser settings options and click on View desktop site, Show as desktop or any other name that includes the word desktop.
The desktop version that we can access through a tablet, offers us exactly the same functions that we can find both in the application for mobile devices and the one that it offers us accessing from a computer.
