Social networks are a great invention, of that there is no doubt. However, many times not everything is rosy. Facebook Messenger, the popular instant messaging system from Facebook, is a good example of all the positive that networks can bring to our lives: permanent and direct contact with our friends and contacts ... A communication that, however, often does not work well. And you can't always attribute the error to technology.
For the doubt of how to know if someone ignores the messages in Messenger there's a solution. The key is found in the latest Facebook updates on the delivery and reading settings of messages. We explain it in detail below:
Confirm reading messages in Facebook Messenger
An easy way to know if someone is ignoring our messages on Facebook Messenger is check their read confirmation. If it appears to us as read and yet there is no answer, it is very likely that the other person has decided to ignore it, although it may also be that they have not found the moment or the correct way to respond. In any case, we will know that they have been read.

If what we want is to check the confirmation of the reading of messages in Messenger from a smartphone or tablet, first of all we must open the application on Android or iOS, as appropriate, and log in to our account. Once this is done, the steps to follow are as follows:
- We click on the messenger icon, on the right side of the top bar. All recent conversations will open.
- To find the chat where we want to carry out the check, we will write the name of the contact in the space of «Search in Messenger».
- Once the chat is open, you have to look at the small symbol that appears immediately after the message sent:
- If it appears the thumbnail of the person's photo, it means that the message has been read the message (and therefore has been ignored).
- If the opposite appears symbol (✓), this will mean that the message has been delivered, but the receiver has not opened it yet.
However, it must be said that this is not a perfect verification system, as there is also the possibility that the person to whom we have sent the message could have read it without opening it.
On a pc
How to know if someone ignores messages in Messenger from a PC? To check the confirmation of the reading of messages on the computer we can do it both from Facebook chat as directly from Messenger.
From the Facebook chat we will follow these steps:
- We will first log into Facebook and we will click on the Messenger icon (in which a lightning bolt appears inside the globe), which we will find in the upper right part of the screen.
- Now, we will look for the conversation in which we want to perform the verification. We can find two different cases:

- If the sent message has been read, the “checked” symbol (✓) will appear with the time and date just below it.
- If instead the message has not been read, only the symbol (✓) will appear without further data. That simply confirms that it has been delivered, although not opened.
From Messenger the steps to follow are the following:
- We log in to Messenger from the main page or from your application.
- We click on the search bar which is at the top, where we write the name of the contact to verify. The possible cases will be these two:

- If the message has not been read, only the «seen» symbol (✓) will appear, which will only serve to confirm that it has been delivered but not read.

Another way to know if someone is ignoring messages in Messenger is to find out when was the last access. It's a simple matter of logic: if we check that the recipient logged in after receiving our messages, they may have seen them and ignored them.
Again, the checking method will be different depending on the type of device:
On tablets and smartphones
Checking the last login of a person in Messenger from a tablet or mobile phone is a simple operation. You just have to access Facebook Messenger through its official application, go to the conversation in question and see when was the last time you logged in.
The information we are looking for will be displayed under the user's name. There we can read "Active" or "Active X minutes ago".
On a pc
In this case, the way to proceed is to access the web version of the Messenger application, log in and open the chat of the recipient we want to check.
Once inside, you have to click on the search bar, which is in the upper left part of the screen. In it we will write the name of the contact. When it appears, look at the information displayed just below the name. For example, the text "Active X hours (or minutes)" may appear, this way we will know to locate in time if you have connected before or after sending the message. And we can also deduce if you have decided to ignore us or not.
The idea is good, but one thing must be warned: this method, like the previous one for tablets and mobile phones, will not work if the user in question has taken the precaution of hiding the last access or if we have done it ourselves.
