Open the WhatsApp application and click on News

Once in News, You will be able to see the list of all the channels you follow, located just below the 'Status' section. Previously, WhatsApp statuses were arranged vertically, and you could see them by scrolling the list up and down. Now, it is the channels that are grouped in this way, and the states have become arranged horizontally, like Instagram stories.
Under Channels section, you can see the name of the channel along with the last message that was shared on it, whether it is a text, a link or an image. This preview lets you know what's been shared most recently without having to open the channel.
Click on the WhatsApp channel you want to delete
Once you have found the WhatsApp channel you want to delete, you must click on it to enter. It is not possible to unfollow a channel without opening it (we tried clicking on the channel for a few seconds, but no option was enabled).
At the top left click on the three dots
Within the channel that you want to stop following, you must click on the three dot menu which is in the upper right corner, next to the notification icon (bell).

When the menu is displayed, you can see four options: Channel Info, Unfollow, Share, and Report. Click on 'Unfollow', and a notice will appear asking if you want to confirm the action. Click on the 'Unfollow' option and that's it, you will have removed the channel from your list of followed channels.
Another route you can take to exit a WhatsApp channel is to click on the channel name, at the top left of the screen. There you will see all the information about the channel, such as whether it is public or the number of followers. At the end of this section, in red letters, you will see the 'Unfollow channel' option. Choose, confirm the action and that's it.
Once you confirm the action, you will still be in the channel, but you will notice that some things change. For example, the three-dot menu in the top right corner changes to a 'Follow' button, which you can use to follow that channel again. Once you exit the deleted channel, you will see it again in the 'Search channels' section.
