The latest smartphones from this Chinese manufacturer are now on sale in Spain. We analyze and compare the two: the Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, to help you choose which one is best for you.
As you may have already imagined, we are faced with the successors of the Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ which were launched in 2023. With those smartphones, the manufacturer managed to carve out an important niche in the always complicated market for mid-range mobile phones. These new proposals come with many improvements. Especially in the design section.
Logically, the 12 Pro+ model is superior in certain technical aspects and, therefore, its price is slightly more expensive. But it is possible that for many users the "simple" model is more than enough for their tastes and needs. In any case, there is not a big gap between one and the other, which happens with other brands.
To make the comparison in a clear and practical way, first we are going to detail the technical characteristics of each of the models, to then go on to analyze their similarities (which are not few) and their differential features.

Two almost identical smartphones
Surely you have had to read the list of specifications for each model several times to find the differences, because In many ways the two smartphones are exactly the same. Starting with the design, Realme has decided to continue betting on the same aesthetic language that has received so much praise in this and other of its series.
Its size (161,47 x 74,02 x 8,75 mm) and weight (190 grams) are the same. Also the range of colors: blue and beige in both cases. Both faces are curved on the sides, with the volume and power buttons on the right side. As to materials, the two mobile phones come with the back covered by synthetic leather, non-slip and very pleasant to the touch.
The two phones also share the same screen: a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, maximum brightness of 950 nits and a resolution of 1.080 x 2.412 pixels. In addition, this screen has a 0,55 mm thick protective glass.
The similarities extend to connectivity options and the operating system, the R customization layerealme UI 5.0, based on Android 14.
Main differences
The two aspects in which we can detect important differences between these two phones are, on the one hand, their photographic equipment and, on the other, the processor power. Two categories in which, obviously, the Realme 12 Pro+ wins.
In the 12 Pro we find a chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen1 which, associated with a RAM memory of 16 GB and a storage capacity of 256 GB, ensures the fluidity necessary to play games and perform many other tasks fluently. However, things improve noticeably in the 12 Pro+ with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, much more powerful and closer to the characteristics of high-end mobile phones.
The camera set is one of the big improvements for the 12 Pro+ 5G, where we find a 64 MP telephoto camera, a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP wide angle camera. The results in terms of images obtained are, necessarily, much better than in the case of the 12 Pro (without detracting from the qualities of this model).
Finally, it should be mentioned a small but important difference in battery capacity. That of the 12 Pro is 4.800 mAh, while that of its "big brother" is 5.000 mAh. With moderate use of the device, the larger battery can extend its autonomy up to two days, always according to information from the manufacturer. In both cases, the charging speed is 67 W.
In short, the comparison between one smartphone and another could be summarized as follows:
- Advantages of the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G: more powerful processor, better photo quality, larger battery.
- Advantages of the Realme 12 Pro 5G: Similar features (except in the processor and photographic equipment sections), at a lower price.

Both models have been sold since last March 12 in the official website of the brand and the usual sales channels. They are available in two colors: Navigator Beige y Submarine Blue.
