Samsung has just presented its response to the “Search” application that exists on iPhones. Now, the Korean brand's mobile devices will have their own search engine, which has been named Samsung Find, the new app to find our devices.

What is Samsung Find?
Samsung Galaxy users will now be able to track their devices using this new service, based on Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) and ultra wideband (UWB). Its operation is very simple: when a device is offline for more than 30 minutes, it produces a signal that other devices can receive. This reaches the Samsung server, reporting its location. Afterwards, the server will send a notification to the user.
According to the brand, all Samsung Find user data is encrypted and securely protected. This ensures that no one except the user themselves will know the location of the device.
Obviously, this application only works for Galaxy devices. This means that sharing our location with friends or family will only be possible if they also have a Samsung Galaxy.
Besides our phone, what else can you look for?
The capabilities of this application are not limited to Galaxy range smartphones, but it can also be used to track numerous electronic devices of the brand.
All products from the “SmartThings” brand
All electronic devices that until now could be managed from the "SmartThings" application can now be located and managed through Samsung Find. Here is a small sample:
Smart TV
All Samsung smart TV models are connectable and trackable using Samsung Find, both the QLED series like those of the NEO QLED series, as well as the designer Smart TVs of the line The Frame, designed to be attached to the wall, with a series of special frames that simulate a painting or a work of art.
Washing machine
All washing machines and drying machines from Samsung of the latest generation with compatible with Samsung Find, the same as they were before with SmartThings.
Smartwatch
In the category of weareables, there is also a long list of Samsung devices that can be located and managed remotely through Samsung Find. This category includes all models of Galaxy SmartWatch and wireless headphones Galaxy Buds.
Frigos
All refrigerators in the house are included. Bespoke series with their different sizes and capacities. All within our reach thanks to Samsun Find.
Tablets
In principle, we will be able to use Samsung Find on all the tablets in the Galaxy Tab S series. Most previous models that worked with SmartThings will probably also be able to connect.
What will happen to SmartThings?
The launch of Samsung Find posed a dilemma for the manufacturer: what to do with SmartThings? This was the search tool that the brand had used to date, with a very similar operation although with some limitations that have now been overcome.
The solution applied has been Solomonic, a kind of distribution of tasks: Samsung Find will be the default tool to locate all our electronic devices and know their status, while SmartThings will from now on be limited to performing the function of a home automation application.
This application will continue to be available in the Googl Play Store and in the Apple Store (we show the links below), unlike Samsung Find, which we can only find in the Galaxy Store.
What Samsung phones does this new application come on?
The new application will be installed from the factory on the Samsung S24 and all its versions. To have it in the rest of the models in the Galaxy range, it will be necessary to download and install the app, as we explain below:
Where to download Google Find?
How to use this service? The first thing we have to do is download the SmartThings Find app from the Galaxy Store and install it on our mobile. After a quick registration process, users will be able to easily find their Galaxy devices easily.
The steps for your setting on our device are the following:
- First of all, let's Adjustments
- Then we go to our Samsung account, at the top of the menu.
- Then we select the option «Find my Mobile».
- Finally, we activate the button "Allow my device to be found."
It is also possible to configure the application to search even when there is no connection. This is what needs to be done:
- As before, let's first Adjustments
- Again we enter our Samsung account
- Then we select the option «Find my Mobile».
- At this point, we activate the button “Offline Finding” (offline search).
