However, her electronic devices are in the TOP 5 of global sales. In this entry we are going to analyze some of the most outstanding products of Transsion, the mobile brand that triumphs outside our borders.
Transition Holdings is not a very well-known name, although it is actually the business group behind the smartphone brand Tecno Mobile (maybe that sounds more familiar to us now). We are talking about the fourth brand in sales volume in Latin America, where its figures do not stop rising year after year.
Where is this brand from? Transsion Holdings is a mobile phone manufacturer based in the city of Shenzhen, China. The reason why it is barely known in Europe and the United States (and, by the way, not in China) is that its commercial strategy is focused on other markets such as Africa, the Middle East, India, Russia, Southeast Asia and, as We pointed out before, also Latin America.
Its market share worldwide is around 9%, only surpassed by those of Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi, but ahead of the commercial brands of the BBK group, made up of such famous brands as OnePlus, Oppo, Realme or Vivo, for example.
In other words, Transsion focuses its expansion on emerging markets, where it is achieving spectacular growth. Its mobile offering is extensive and covers all segments, from simple low-end mobile phones to folding mobile phones and high-end phones. It must also be said that Transsion manufactures other technological products such as wireless headphones, computers and others. The diversity is enormous. In fact, in the last edition of the Mobile World Congress it surprised everyone by presenting a curious prototype of a robot dog.
Tecno Mobile, economical mobile phones with good features
Among the different brands that are part of the Transsion group, without a doubt the most successful is Tecno mobile. Its marketing formula consists of offering users affordable mobile phones equipped with very good features.
The features of their phones are somewhat different from what we are used to. In general terms, these are smartphones with very striking aesthetics, with presence of LED lights, rather unorthodox camera modules and available in a very wide color palette. An example of what it offers is the Chameleon Color Changing technology, which allows you to control the color of your mobile phone through an app.
In short, we are talking about designs made with the tastes of Asian or Latin American consumers in mind, probably not the most suitable for the average user profile in Europe. The technological equipment is more than correct for low-medium range mobile phones, and its prices are really affordable. Perfectly suited to the markets they are aimed at.
The arrival of Tecno Mobile to Spain
One of the big news from the last MWC in Barcelona was that Tecno Mobile mobile phones and tablets are going to be available in Spain coming soon. The devices that reach us will be manufactured in the company's Russian subsidiary, which already supplies some Eastern European countries.
Although the list of models that will begin to be sold in our country is not completely definitive, these are three of the models that we will probably be able to acquire and that we found most interesting to comment on:
TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G
El POVA 6 Pro 5G It is a thin and light mobile that weighs only 195 grams and is 7,88 millimeters thick. Even so, it has a series of quite outstanding technical characteristics. For starters, a huge 6.000 mAh battery and 70W fast charging, as well as a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 6080 5G processor. This works together with a configuration of 12 GB of RAM plus 256 GB of internal storage.
The screen of the TECNO POVA 6 Pro is a 6,78-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Unlike previous models, the TECNO Pop 8 is clearly included in the list of the most affordable proposals in the range. It is a simpler smartphone and will certainly have a lower price. A device with minimalist aesthetics and compact dimensions (163,7 x 75,6 x 8,6 mm), although equipped with a 5.000 mAh battery, typical of a mid-high range mobile.
It has a 6,6-inch IPS LCD screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. To guarantee optimal performance, it has a Unisoc T606 processor, simple but reliable, which will work through three different configurations. Finally, it must be said about this mobile phone that in the last year it has been a real best-seller in certain countries such as India.
Regrettably, It is not yet known when these mobile phones will begin to be sold in Spain, or at what prices. What does seem certain is that it will be this year. The big question will be whether the undeniable success that the brand has achieved in other parts of the world will also be reproduced here.
