But besides all that, we also have the “Absence message” function, that we will be able to use to program messages. You just have to follow these steps:
- First, click on the icon "More options", which we find in the upper right corner of the conversations screen.
- Then we select «Tools for the company» and then "Absence message".

Applications to schedule messages on WhatsApp
Beyond WhatsApp Business, there are still other options to send WhatsApp messages at a predetermined time. For that we will need the help from other apps capable of being combined to do those types of functions that WhatsApp is not yet capable of doing.
We are going to focus on two apps in particular: wasavi, only available for Android, and SKED, available for both iOS and Android.
Wasavi – Scheduled messages
Many WhatsApp users already use wasavi as a kind of natural complement to the most famous instant messaging application in the world. This app is very useful for sending birthday greetings, reminders and notices without having to pay attention to the calendar or be in front of the screen.
It is a free app worth downloading for time the sending of messages and even create a birthday agenda. After configuring it according to our preferences, Wasavi will take care of sending the messages for us at the agreed date and time, although we can also activate the notification option to review, and if necessary, modify the message before it goes out.

SKEDit – Message Scheduling
Another great external app to schedule messages on WhatsApp: SKEDit Scheduling App, which we will be able to find both in the iOS App Store and in the Android Play Store.
The first time we start this application after downloading and installing it, we will have to fill out a registration form via email or Facebook. We can also skip this step and use it as a guest, if we just want to test it to see how it goes. However, to get the most out of SKEDit, it is best to complete the registration and give our OK to all the permissions that the app requires.
And what do you have to do to schedule a message? Very simple: first you have to select the Whatsapp option from the SKEDit app itself and press the "+" icon. Next, where it says "Add WhatsApp contact" we select the recipient(s) of the message. We then attach files (if applicable) and schedule the exact day and time of delivery. Of course, there are also options to send the same message regularly, for example, every day at 9 in the morning.
As with Wasavi, with SKEDit it is also necessary to have the phone unlocked for the message to be sent automatically. A good way to get around this problem is to mark the "Ask me before sending" option. In this way, we will receive a notification and we will be the ones who click on the "Send" button.
