If you already know Wordle, you will know how fun and addictive this word guessing game is in just a few tries and just a few hints. Its success and popularity around the world have encouraged many developers to launch new and curious variants, such as the one we are presenting today: Flagle, the Wordle of flags.
In this peculiar version of Wordle, it's about guessing the flag that is hidden behind the squares. The game mechanism, in any case, is quite similar to that of the original Wordle. We tell you everything in more detail below:
We are talking about an equally entertaining game for both children and adults. It is also good entertainment with which to learn and expand our culture. A fun way to approach the fascinating world of vexillology, that is, the study of flags: their history, their meaning, etc.
If Wordle focuses on words (words), the goal of Flagle is to find out the flags (flags) proposed by each of the riddles. It is played in almost the same way, although with some differences.
How to play Flagle
Although the base is the same, the mod of playing Flagle varies slightly depending on the page we choose. What does not change is the "rule" that applies in the classic Wordle: only one game a day. There are many other websites to have fun with Flagle, but all of them have a game system similar to the two that we analyze below. Let's see how they work:

The site flage.io offers very simple operation. Every day a hidden flag appears on the screen under six boxes, which correspond to the six attempts we count to guess it. Below the boxes are a dropdown menu with the list of countries sorted alphabetically.
For each attempt, you have to choose a country from the list. The first, as is logical, will be a bet on the purest chance (almost impossible to get it right the first time). After each attempt, a square will be uncovered, following the order from right to left and from top to bottom. A row will also be displayed below with the name of the chosen country and the distance in kilometers with the country that corresponds to the flag that we want to guess. An interesting geographical clue that could perhaps be of great help to us.
As in the original Wordle, the fewer attempts we need to find the hidden flag, the higher the final score will be. If we fail, we will have to wait until the next day to try our luck again.

We also have six attempts and a drop-down list of countries with a small image of their flag shown next to each name. However, each attempt we make will not open a box, but will reveal a strip or surface of the flag in which there is a coincidence of colors with the one we have proposed.
In the attempts table we will see a percentage that will reflect the degree of coincidence between the proposed flag and the flag that is hidden from our eyes.
Other Wordle variants
In addition to Flagle, there are many more versions of Wordle, all of which are based on the classic version of the game. These are some of the most interesting:
- wordle with tildes, which adds extra difficulty to the game of guessing words.
- Trial, in which we have a limited time to hit the hidden word.
- Kids. The challenges are simpler, they are words of only three letters.
- squirdle, where what you have to guess are not words, but Pokémon characters.

- Dordle. You have to solve two words at the same time. There is also the variant of four simultaneous words (Quordle) and even eight (Octordle).
